Waterloo Wargame by Airfix from 1975. This is a very Rare game from Airfix which depicts the Famous Battle at Waterloo between the Duke of Wellington leading his allied Army against most probably the greatest General ever Napolean. The Battle takes place in Glorious 3D form with moulded figures on stands representing the various regiments that took part in the Battle. I have played this game many times and it is really excellent gameplay. The Game pieces in red (allies) Blue (French) are either Infantry,Cavalry or Artillery with the Base size depicting the amount of troops. Each of the three types have different speed of movement over road or countryside and is governed by the movement calipers. The Battles are fought using realistic war gaming rules and depends a lot on strategy and a little luck, The Pieces start the game on a game mat with the units starting the game as they did at the start of the actual battle. All of the famous units are present and have their names on the side of the pieces with the aim of the French being to take their objectives before the Prussians arrive or to inflict excessive casualties on the Allies. The allies objectives are to hold on until the prussians arrive or to inflict excessive casualties on the French. It is a really absorbing game The Game contents are Complete and in very good condition for such a delicate game.(a little bit of cover missing from rule book) The Box is complete and is also in very good condition. You will not come across this Rare game very often especially complete and in such condition but is one of those games that you can play again and again.
