Subbuteo World Cup Edition Boxed Set from 1971. This was my only dream for Christmas in 1971 which unfortunately I did not get, The Subbuteo World Cup Edition. I already had the Table Football Edition and was just starting to really enjoy the matchs and collecting the teams ansd then I found out about this boxed set. This was one Present I really wanted but due to the cost it did not arrive and I never got it until now. This set was the luxury item for Subbuteo Players due to its size and content. The Set is Complete and Contains everything that is stated on the contents list on the lid as well as a bit extra Literature for the advanced player. The Set contents are in my opinion in excellent condition ,The Floodlights look new, The Scoreboard (with Lamps) has a lot of the Teams uncut but also has the cards for the World Cup venues and teams, The Whistle and Log book are present and these are often missing from these sets, The Box is also in good to very good condition for its age Overall due to the condition of the contents and Box I would say it is a very good example of this rare to find Game. The one thing I do like is the log book has some matchs carefully filled in while some people prefer a mint clean log book but just reading the games played and the details of who played,who scored and when they scored really shows a history to a game that has been cherished, and even when I was checking the contents and pitch I was thinking of all the matchs played on this set and the joy it has brought some lucky lad. This is a wonderful set to own and one that will only go up in value.
